Hacktivism

Hacktivist-Activism is immoral and a criminal injustice even when done with the thought of helping someone or something. The Definition of hacktivism is to literally do an act of justice by hacking into or attacking an account. This is however punishable by law seeing as it is a criminal offense and breach of one’s fourth amendment rights.
If we take into account the situation of the Ashley Madison website scandal, it’s an immoral offense. Exposing someone’s private information even when they are committing infidelity is a breach of privacy to that person’s account. We also have situations where someone’s account information is released to the public eye, which can lead to one’s identity being stolen or impersonated. Identity theft is a result of hacking and Hacktivist-Activism.
There is currently a hacktivist group that has declared war on the ISIS terrorist group. They go by the name of Anonymous. They use the Mask of Guy Fawkes to conceal their identities from the public eye. Their slogan is "We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us" ( USA Today). That slogan is there to give one fear when this group is at foot. Their actions “frequently include hacking into and disseminating information that purportedly belongs to people in power, in order to discredit or embarrass them” (USA Today). That being said, they have recently started attacking communications in ISIS through media access points. They have currently taken down over 100 websites, 100,000 Twitter accounts, and 6,000 propaganda videos (refer to graph). Granted what they’re doing is a good thing, it is still a criminal offense because it is a breach into private accounts.
Personally Hacktivist-Activism is morally wrong and can cause multiple legal issues if caught. Even if someone is doing something of suspicion, it doesn’t mean that their secrets should be revealed and or hacked illegally.

Response to Article Blog13

Identity theft is a big problem to online users. Now that we have the access to the internet and other various technologies, we become more vulnerable to attacks. Identity theft isn't only about stealing a persons identity but it is also an invasion of privacy. someone is willingly invading someones account for their information just to make off with money or other materialistic items. Also when a person's identity is stolen large purchases are made on their accounts when it is not them and causes them to pay for  "help" in a way to correct the account problems. A person's social security number isn't safe as well. There is no true way to stop identity theft because of our current technological advancements.

Response to the Articles

I personally feel like I shouldn't have to be cautious of what I do because of the possibility of the government watching over me. Society gains nothing from a government that has access to it's citizens private lives. It is a breach of our right to privacy under the constitution.

Response to the Articles

While reading the articles I kept thinking of an impending apocalypse. I've seen the terminator movies and it's not good that my name is similar to the person Arnold Schwartzenegger is trying to kill. I enjoyed reading about the military's use of robots. It's interesting to see how our armed forces can become greedy with power so that they have the ultimate weapon. It's interesting to see how far one would go for robot creations. With self driving cars you have issues dealing with control though. You're not making the decision, the car is. I find that to be frightening to have lost control of a car when it shouldn't be an omnipotent being.

Response to Article

I like how the author mentioned the expansion of the game industry. With the technology we have today it's interesting to see how the game industry progressed and developed. Not only dod the technology help or gaming industry in america it allowed for a foreign import of games and consoles, one of which is the nintendo. It is also interesting to see that he talks about the negative side of video gaming as well. He knows video games aren't all about expansion and profit. He shows that there is an  antisocial aspect of gaming with our new technology advancing.

Response to the Film

When watching this film I already had some type of preconceived notion about it. I never knew the actual total number of deaths in the six year period of the war, but I knew of the deaths in the holocaust. I was surprised to find out that the Soviet Union had the most body count and was impacted by the war the more than I assumed. The presentation is a general projection of the death total in World War II compared to others before and after it's time as well. I liked how they used the sketch of a person to count as one thousand deaths. Using that as a unit of measure helps one understand the actual picture of deaths rather than a graph telling you what you may or my not already know.

Koko

My dog is idiotic. He willingly believes that he can catch water in his mouth when it comes from a hose. my dad and I laugh constantly at him because it does it frequently. he also loves doing it when my dad is trying to fill up the kiddie pool he bought for not only Koko but Kasper as well. Koko will submerge himself in the pool, while Kasper just dips his front paws in and drinks the water. He is still an adorable little puppy.

Elemental Cradle Website
This is the website that the picture came from.

The title of the website is Wall321. There is no directly stated author.

This was most likely made with 2 or more images to help create an illusion of an elemental newton's cradle. It is a piece of digital art because it can't be painted naturally. An actual newton's cradle doesn't have the modifications that this picture allows it to have. Inputting different elemental aspects in the picture makes it a type of digital editing. A person can't create this without a computer because a computer can merge 2 or more images into one and without a computer someone can't do that.

I chose this image because of my fascination of the elements and science. I love the idea of the newton's cradle and the physics behind it. It also reminded me of my grandfather's law office, he has a newton's cradle on his desk. I also love the concept of the picture, wind or air is knocking into the other four, causing a chain reaction.

Ashley Madison Response

The members of the Impact team aren't despicable criminals. They were doing something they believed to be right. This team of hackers wanted to show the world that there are sites online that allow for things like marriage in society to be desecrated. The ashley madison website was technically given an ultimatum on the matter of shutting down their website. They refused and it caused their information and the customers of their sites information to be leaked and seen publicly. As owners of the site they should be protecting their customers. Since there is no law for someone to persecuted for cheating, the Ashley Madison website wasn't doing anything wrong. The hackers were doing a robin hood style just for the spouse that was affected by their spouse cheating. Even though The hackers did this to release information, it should have been done in a way that didn't leak customer information to the public.

Image Editing #2

Here are Koko and Kasper.
The image was taken by me from my phone.
The image looks cuter when it focuses on Koko the alien dog after editing.

This is the image edited with Hue& Saturation, duplication and rotation. It has also been edited to focus more on Koko with a third eye. I used the image editing website Pixlr.

Image Editing

This Koko and Kasper being adorable little puppies.
This photo was taken by me on my phone.
They look cuter when the image was cropped and re-sized, to focus on them rather than the background.
This is the edited photo from Pixlr. It has been resized and cropped. I don't know why it is rotated, but that's how it uploaded to Pixlr.

Response to the Articles on Copyright

Response to Question/Bullet #3

The current copyright law in the United States allows for the creator to "keep" their work and it won't become public domain until 70 years after their death. This law allows for the creator's family children or not to be able to live in a moderate lifestyle. This law provides compensation to the creator because it not only takes care of the themselves, but also their family after the creator or inventor's death. The time period of 70 years after death allows for the life expectancy of the average human. Before this law was enacted the creative property and content such as inventions, titles, objects, etc. were put into public domain after the time that was stated in the current law was over. The law in place today was the result of Walt Disney's death in 1923 and the ownership of Mickey Mouse, the cartoon character. The current law in place today may restrict certain actions someone takes to use the creative property of another, but there are certain rules to follow that can justify the use of the creative property. One has to ask themselves questions as to the why, the what, and the quantity of the work before they can used it without persecution. The Law today is restricting but for  a good reason so that the creative content or property can get credited. Copyright is basically a way to give credit where it is due and to help the creator have a real sense of ownership over their work.

Intro to Me and the Blog

This blog is going to be about personal life stories and experiences, as well as fictional stories that I have written. I will also include multiple creative mediums and media that I may wish to share on the blog. There will also be inspirational and meaningful quotes from my favorite authors and poets.

I would also like to share a bit of information about myself. First I would like to share that I don't do well with grammar, but I'm fixing that. I have lived in Charleston, SC my whole life until i moved for college. I am a first year college student, though I wish not to name the institution. I would like to keep my school life separate from the life I blog about. I have been to Israel twice because of me being Jewish and a trip for birthright. I was also raised Catholic as well. Family events and reunions could get a little chaotic. I have a twin sister who is fraternal, it's the whole nine yards. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, she's paler, and she matured faster. I still love her though she may be a pain occasionally. We both go to different colleges for our own individual and creative freedom.
